We're So Sorry...Uncle Albert.

Over the Holidays, we learned of the passing of Al Goldstein, a close friend to Dennis who hosted him quite often at The BunnyRanch. Al is well known in adult magazine circles for being the publisher of Screw Magazine out of New York City.

"Al was many things", says Dennis, "and one was being a tireless crusader against injustice and the forces of evil, those people and institutions who deserve condemnation." In that light, Dennis is looking at ways to draw attention to those who Al would have found repugnant, with our own "Goldstein Curse".

Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty was recently noted, for his homophobic and racist comments to GQ Magazine. "We banned him from The BunnyRanch", exclaims Dennis, "Besides his show is about killing ducks, and our girls love animals."

Oh Canada!

You might have heard something about Canada's Supreme Court striking down the nation's three most prominent prostitution laws, including owning a brothel.

Seems our friends up in The Great White North are going to have an interesting year finding ways to rewrite the laws so that they are considered constitutional.

In the meantime Dennis is already thinking of ways to set the "gold standard" for brothels in Canada, with a series of BunnyRanch satellite brothels in major cities. We'll keep you updated on further developments, of course.

STYX

Spawned from a suburban Chicago basement in the early '70s, Styx would eventually transform into the virtual arena rock prototype by the late '70s and early '80s, due to a fondness for big rockers and soaring power ballads.

Early on, Styx's music reflected such then-current prog rockers as Emerson, Lake & Palmer and the Moody Blues, as evidenced by such releases as 1972's self-titled debut, 1973's Styx II, 1974's The Serpent Is Rising, and 1975's Man of Miracles. While the albums (as well as non-stop touring) helped the group build a substantial following locally, Styx failed to break through to the mainstream, until a track originally from their second album, "Lady" started to get substantial airplay in late '74 on the Chicago radio station WLS-FM. The song was soon issued as a single nationwide, and quickly shot to number six on the singles chart, as Styx II was certified gold.

These iconic songs tell stories of a hard life lived in the heartland, about love of partner, family, home and land.

Featuring a cast of six principles paired off to make three couples at various stages of life, the Cash lyrics conjure life experiences that are then applied to the characters. "Ring of Fire" includes some of Cash's most beloved songs such as "Daddy Sang Bass","Ring of Fire","I Walk the Line", "I've Been Everywhere","The Man in Black" and his final hit,"Hurt".

Often Referred to as the "Testicle Festival!"

In March, the Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry & St. Patrick's Day Parade features marching leprechauns, green attractions, and a Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry (yep-they are either beef or sheep testicles, or some of both.)

This is a fun filled day of unique eating as professional and amateur cooks compete for the most creative and unique dishes utilizing these unique delicacies. More than 20 cooks compete in one of Northern Nevada's most popular tasting contests serving up tasty testes all day, hoping for fame and glory as one of the best Rocky Mountain Oyster cooks in the West.

It's a full-on Irish Testicle Festival with a Beer Garden, live Irish music, individual and team ball-eating contests and topped off with the Leprechaun Bar Crawl. At 12:00noon, catch the Virginia City St. Patrick's Day Parade on C Street, featuring the Minden Irish Dancers, our Giant Leprachaun's of Fresno and more.
