This is the month for the best summer events in and around the Reno Tahoe Carson City Virginia City area. Pick an event then pick a bunny, starlet, kitty, or lover to join you!


Biggest Little City Wingfest - Friday and Saturday, July 5 - 6, 2019. Downtown Reno will host the 7th Annual Biggest Little City Wing Fest. This event brings over 80,000 attendees and serves over 20,000 pounds of chicken wings. This year's event will feature finger lickin' chicken wings, free live entertainment on outdoor stages, street faire vendors and local celebrity wing judges.

Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival - Friday, July 5, 2019. The 2019 Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival runs from July 5 through August 25. This 47th season of the Festival features two main plays ("The Taming of the Shrew" and "Million Dollar Quartet") in addition to all of the other shows and activities making up this exceptional event at Sand Harbor http://newtoreno.com/sand-harbor-beach-park-lake-tahoe-nevada.htm on the shores of Lake Tahoe.

Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series at the Brewery Arts Center - Saturday, July 6, 2019, 7 p.m. Featuring The Novelists and Kara Grainger. These are all free shows. The public is invited to bring their own picnics, blankets and lawn chairs to the concerts, which will have an open setting. There will be food trucks, drink vendors and kid's activities at every concert. The Levitt AMP concert series is located at 449 West King Street at the corner of King and Minnesota Streets. More shows this month are The Mother Hips on July 13, Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience on July 20, and Josh Hoyer and Soul Colossal on July 27.

American Century Championship - Tuesday through Sunday, July 9 - 14, 2019. The 30th annual American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament will be at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course near South Lake Tahoe and Stateline. See more than 80 entertainment and sports celebrities, including Jerry Rice and Bode Miller. Other players have been Charles Barkley, Larry the Cable Guy, Roger Clemens, John Elway, Andre Iguodala, Heather LeMaster, Dan Quayle, Bret Saberhagen, Joe Theismann, Michael Waltrip, and many, many more. Discount tickets available at Raley's, Bel-Air, and Nob Hill stores. The event benefits the Stowers Institute for Medical Research.

Discover Your Parks Walks - Thursday, July 11, 2019. Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is leading free walks in different parks located in Washoe County from April through September, 2019. This first July walk will be at Virginia Lake Park http://newtoreno.com/virginia-lake-park-reno-nevada.htm. Others will be on July 18 and 25. Walks start at 6 p.m.

Reno Art Fest 2019 - Friday through Sunday, July 12 - 14, 2019. This event during Artown takes place in downtown Reno on N. Virginia Street between 4th and 6th Streets. It includes the Circus Circus 24-hour Mural Marathon, an artists sale, Cre8tive Zone of interactive art fun, performance by Controlled Burn and a Friday night street party opening celebration.

Science Saturdays at the National Automobile Museum - Saturday, July 13, 2019. Join in on an adventure that is out of this world. Admission is $12 per person for children and adults, which also includes admission to the Museum and free refreshments. For participants age 8 and up. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. The event is from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required approximately two days before the event. Call the Museum at (775) 333-9300 for more information.

Reno Garlic Fest - Saturday, July 20, 2019, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. This event is free and part of Artown. The RGF is a fun and family-friendly event celebrating local food and local growers. Come to buy organically grown garlic, enjoy live music, and learn how you can grow your own garlic. You can eat garlicky foods, including garlic ice cream. At Pat Baker Park, N. Montello Street in Reno.

Riverwalk Vinegogh Wine Walk - Saturday, July 20, 2019, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Riverwalk Merchants present this fun event every third Saturday of the month. For Artown, it will be the Vinegogh Wine Walk. Visit any of the participating merchants with $20 and receive your wine glass and hand stamp (with photo ID), then make the rounds sampling wines at numerous businesses in the area. This is a 21+ event. Pets and strollers are not advised. For more information, call 775-825-WALK(9255).

Barracuda Championship PGA Golf - Monday through Sunday, July 22 - 28, 2019. Enjoy Reno's PGA golf tournament, the only one in northern Nevada. The tournament at MontrĂȘux Golf & Country Club offers lots of family-friendly activities in addition to the golf. This is a charity event with live television coverage on The Golf Channel. The purse is $3.5 million.
