I’m big into occult books, biographies, and true crime. I also have a book about heavy metal music where King Diamond shared a story about when Metallica was in Denmark, and they used some of Mercyful Fate’s equipment to record Ride The Lightning. Lars and Janes found King’s lyric book sitting on a speaker in Mercyful Fate’s rehearsal room, and King was known for writing lyrics about black magic, the occult, and pretty much anything scary. They heard King coming back, so they left the book alone. To this day, King and Metallica and still friends. King even got to be a playable character in Guitar Hero Metallica.
Do it! If you've watched the HBO show, you have the main arc of the story. But the show is different than the books, and it's now ahead of the books. I just hope GRRM finishes the series before he dies. If you haven't watched the show, don't fall in love with any character. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
I actually just seen the last one DVDs but thank you for that in sight. I'm looking forward to reading them.
GoT books are far better. Season 2 of the show was trash compared to the book. So much character development lost for one particular character. But I understand, I mean its far easier to write than to go through the logistics of a production. As for books I'm still reading: Destroying the World to Save It: Aum Shinrikyo, Apocalyptic Violence, and the New Global Terrorism. I found out today that on July 6 the Japanese gov. executed the leader of the cult and a a number of high ranking cult members. They were responsible for the sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway in 1995.
I will always love reading real traditional books... and I prefer hardbacks over paperbacks... thinking this shows MY age!!!! LOL
I prefer real books to e-books. Better resolution, easier to cross-reference, better tactile sense and they're very resistant to damage. Only problem is they weigh a lot when you move
It's always nice to curl up with an awesome book before bed or during breakfast unless my attention is on you.
I read the news today (oh boy) and saw that a Kinsey Institute sex researcher had written a book... "Tell Me What You Want" The first thing that came to mind was, did he consult the ladies at the ranches? If not, then I call shenanigans!
I just stumbled across this. Can't help but smile. My first book was not my best - yet someone collected it and wants to get rich off of it. I love the world I'm living in.
I got a few new ones myself to add to the list such as Then she was gone by Lisa Jewell and Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur.
I think we all still read . Does anybody want to share what they're reading? This way we can possibly want to read it too.

I just finished Perfidia by James Ellroy. It was published in 2014, but I just got around to reading it. I think it's his best novel (out of the four I've read so-far). For those who haven't read it, it takes place in L.A., and beings the day before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. It deals primarily with the police investigation of the murder of a Japanese American family, and the internment of innocent Japanese Americans. Now that I'm done with it, I'm rereading Noble House by James Clavell, and I'm also reading The Last Illusion, a short story by Clive Barker.
I'm still interested in what everyone is reading. This way we can add new stuff to read to our lists of things to do this year.
Reading helps fight boredom. Reading is good for being knowledgeable. Sent from my E2043 using Tapatalk
I'm working my way through Neil Gaiman's American Gods, and also trying to work thorough Tom Nichols The Death of Expertise
New book alart... Gwendy's Button Box by Richard Chizmar and Stephen King. I'm looking forward to reading this one. If you have any new books please fill free to share it with us.
My favorite book is The Guru Investor - How To Beat The Market Using History's Best Investment Strategies by John P. Reese.
I'm currently reading The Big Nowhere, by James Ellroy. While it's not his best novel, anything with Dudley Liam Smith in it is pretty good. I'll probably read The Great Ordeal, by R. Scott Bakker next. If you like dark fantasy, his stuff is pretty phenomenal.
I just finished Cringeworthy, A Theory of Awkwardness by Melissa Dahl. Great read. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
