Personal life update from Good Ole Nick

This FMLA stuff is fucking crazy! I’m getting bounced around like a ping pong ball!

 

I know and feel your pain with FMLA, it's a pain-in-the-ass! I hope you get qualified for it. See if you can get the surgeon's office to help you out, they usually can help with it.

 

My surgeon only cleared me for the surgery and the four weeks after. I talked to the short term disability people today.

 

Last week, I talked to my doctor. I had the FMLA specialist at work send him a description of my job duties. Now my doctor is waiting for the results of my MRI and X-rays.

I’m on pins and needles here!

 

Update!

Work has approved my leave! My doctor cleared me till my surgery and my surgeon has cleared me for the four weeks after.

Just waiting on hearing about temporary disability.

 

Yesterday, I had to run the results of my MRI from the surgeons’s office to my doctor’s office. It’s pretty bad when I have to do their jobs for them.

 

Yeah, running the records to all doctors' offices is a pain. why they can't mail it, fax, or email the results to each other is beyond me.

 

I got a call from the firm handling my FMLA disability to be told they’d call me back in a week. Fingers crossed.

 

Pre-op appointment is this Thursday. Got my bloodwork in.

I’m finally playing Doom Eternal. Found a used copy for $25. Sold!

 

I got approved for my disability. Another weight off my shoulders.

 

I had my pre op appointment today. I had to get more blood work done.

 

Old Nick congrats on getting approved for that, I hear that they make you jump through hoops to get it, no pun intended

 

This venture was not very hoop-less. I can’t wait to get this whole thing over with.

 

As far as I know, my surgery is next Monday.

I got the call. My surgery is at 6 am…bright and early! I hope my surgeon is a morning person.
