The biggest issue is income id actually like to move out here but the price of homes are significantly higher than where im from here in the south. For example i was looking on zillow i was looking at a 3 bedroom 2 bath house in my state for 154k dollars i found a similar kind of house about the same size in Carson city but it was 363k dollars. I have no idea why it costs so much more to live out west but i cant find many jobs that pay more than what im doing now.

i just work in a factory im not passionate about it at all. looking to get into something else. From what ive seen id like to find something for no more than 1k a month where im from most people pay between 600 to 700. The minimum wage is 7.25 but in Nevada its only 8.25 i think it should be way higher because of the vast cost of living difference. I make way more than minimum wage but with taxes you really dont make what it says you do on paper.

Maybe you should change careers. In Reno, go for a job where tips are a major part of your income. Table dealers like craps and blackjack along with bartenders can make a lot of tip money at a large casino, if they get the right shift and location. For women, casino cocktail waitresses make some good tips but they hustle to make them, I wouldn't be able to run around for a shift carrying a full tray of drinks. Being an experienced bartender can be a portable job skill that you can take almost anywhere around the country if you decide to move.

Good suggestions to far. My thoughts:

First, your credit score is based on your ratio between total you can borrow versus what you actually borrow. So, if you check your score after you pay everything off, it’s a higher score. If you buy a lot and reach your max, your score goes down. So, your score fluctuates within the same month.

Second, the rule should be that you pay everything off every month. If you don’t, then you’re probably spending the same amount each month but you have less “room” on your cards to spend, so your score goes down. And of course, credit card companies have high interest (because there is no collateral) which means more of your income goes to paying interest. So pay it all off.

The third, ironically, is that if you have more cards, your total borrowing limit across all cards go up, so your score actually improves. The pitfall people get into is that if you have too many, you start to spend more than you earn.

And yes, your income absolutely matters because the credit card companies calculate your spending ratio against your income. They assume a certain percentage goes to recurring expenses, so your free spending is higher if you make more money.

But DO NOT use your credit card to the max for the ranches. Your fun will last minutes or hours but your paying off could take days, months or years. The ranches are discretionary luxuries and you need to have that money in the bank. I say this because I know how wonderful the ranch is and I would love to spend my whole life there, but it’s also important to maintain common sense so that you can come back time and again.

Lastly, don’t get caught up on the credit score thing. It’s the long game. If you are diligent, you’ll eventually have more room on your credit cards than you can spend. That then allows you to buy a car, a house, a credit line on your house, which then leads you to even better credit cards perks.... And that’s a good thing.

The only thing i ever use my credit card for is gas. All my other expenses or on a debit card i also use it for the ranch. both my scores should reach 700 this year. Mainly trying to get it as high as i can so if i want to rent an apartment i should get approved and also looking for the job and all. I know in a lifetime a person will spend more on rent than a mortage but I dont want to have to borrow alot of money and be stuck with it if i want to move later. Most leases ive looked at for an apartment are only 12 months.

  7. Have you thought about getting into a trade? Mechanics, electricians, welders etc are well paying jobs that there is a high demand for. Service industries where you rely on tips can also be good if you’re a “people person”. :)

Maybe I should work at a higher end resturant where people typically spend a good amount of money. I imagine someone who works at a more expensive resturant like dukes makes more in tips than someone who works at somewhere cheaper like dennys i could be wrong. I dont have any problem working over 50 hours a week ive done that alot for the past 5 years. Im also open to the idea of having a roomate to make things easier. Maybe save up as much as i can find a good job get a place then look for a roomate so i wont be stressing so much about rent.

Bunny bucks is a great idea! I love the idea of a minute for every thousand spent or free drinks...or treat it like a VIP card like other countries do for cool upgrades and discounts. I would totally do that

That would be so cool! Make it customizable so you could put your favorite girl on the front or a cool shiny silver or white bunny on the pink and black card or a stallion!

I for one would love a loyalty program of some sort. Granted the discounted hotel and the incredible girls are always enough to encourage loyalty =)

Bank of America are very generous with their credit card amount even when you’re just starting out.. I had gotten a 5000$ limit within like a year but just make sure you pay all your debt on time every month.. set up automatic payment on everything so you don’t forget.

My scores are 720 and 715. I have good approval odds for most cards. I'm thinking of going for the chase sapphire preferred or the reserved. Both I've read have high credit limits. The card I have has a 500 dollar limit. I'm at the point now where income is more important since i have good credit. I don't need to get reckless and get into a lot of debt.

  22. Get a secured card. Its a card that you pay for in advance, usually the limit is $300- $500 to start. Use it like any other line of credit and always keep it below 30% of its max and your credit will grow quickly.

definately not a bunny ranch card 90 to 150 dollars if it keep it at 30 percent. sounds good for a magazine subscription or for gas.

  24. Just to raise credit... Not to use at the ranch obviously... It worked well for me 100 points in 6 -12 months years ago...

  25. Like Roxy Gold stated. The (lending institution) is going to go by your Credit to Depth ratio. Purchasing Gift cards not a bad idea. Maybe a gas card, but u need to pay the bill off every month. Other wise don’t get the gas card. Possibly a (small) signature loan. If the interest rate is not to high. Hope that helps.

Im starting to understand the trap many people fall into they get good credit then are able to get all of these high limit credit cards they max them out then end up with thousands of dollars in debt because their credit outmatches there income. Its crazy if someone who had a 100k saved up in the bank and no credit the bank wouldnt give them a loan but if someone with only 1k to their name with a good credit score needs a loan they get it no problem. It honestly sounds like a scam to some degree.

I'm right there with Amy on the Southwest card.

For example i got a deal where I got a ton of free miles for charging a certain amount the first few months. I ensured the amount I charged I already had in my bank. That way i could pay off the charge by the time first payment was due. By doing this my credit score increased and a month later Southwest increased my credit line by another 33%.

I recommend using your smaller card to charge as much as you can but still small enough that you can afford to pay off with balance within the first month or two. This shows quickly you are on top of your bills and can get you an increase pretty quickly and will likely get you approved when you apply for the Southwest card.

Of course the added perk of the airline card is all the extra miles. Now that i'm moving back to a city that Southwest flies out of, I'm going back to charging every bill I can think of on the card(groceries, cable bill, electric bill, etc.) and pay off right away since I would have already had the funds from my normal monthly spending budget. This way you can add up the points quickly. By doing this. 50-75% of my ranch visits would have at least one way of my flight payed for in points(based on 3-4 trips per year), which at least covers my bar tab when i'm at the ranch....lol. Always good to have extra bar tab to afford to buy multiple girls drinks especially if you haven't decided on your party or parties yet. If you dont like Southwest, I've seen other airlines with similar details.

    I hope this helps....

definately want to get something with some good rewards program. with the amount of money i spend at the ranch it shouldnt be a problem to be able to pay for a economy ticket in points if i put it on the card and pay it right back. The credit card companys make their money off the people who spend more than what they can afford. If everyone used it responsiblely they would quit making them.

  31. Was thinking about getting a Southwest card to pay when we get gas. We have a gas company brand card now. We just pay off the bill when it comes in. I was going to get the southwest card and make that our gas card. Figured I would at least get flyer mile points. Trying to think smarter!

The sign up bonuses are where the points are at. Other than that your spending way more than what your getting back in points. But it's something. Why do I still get the highest APR? Both my scores are over 700 that's ridiculous I get the highest interest rate. Is this something I have to ask for?

It wouldn't hurt to ask for a lower APR if you have established a good payment history. If you pay the balance off every month the APR doesn't matter.
