This New Year's Eve, make sure the ball drops on HBO! On December 31,
following a ten-episode encore stack of Entourage from 7 p.m. to midnight,
HBO will premiere an all-new, adults-only special featuring some of the
sexiest regulars from Cathouse, including favorites like "Air Force Amy" and
"Brooke Taylor," as well as new girls like "Lexi Lovelace," "Gretchen Wilde"
and "Eden 38DD."
The special will focus on the rehearsals and eleven
finished performances of familiar musical standards by a handful of the
working girls who normally put their talents to more sexual (and profitable)
use in the bedrooms of the Ranch.
With the help of a couple of musical pros
(see below), a smoking big band and some jaw-dropping costumes, the girls
bring their sexy spin to popular standards like "You're Getting to Be a Habit
with Me," "I Wanna Be Loved By You," "Let's Do It," as well as the more
contemporary "I Know What Boys Like" (do they ever!).
Expertly overseeing the girl's musical numbers are two well-known talents
who have worked with many top Broadway stars: Fred Barton, co-creator-
arranger-performer-pianist of the internationally acclaimed revue Forbidden
Broadway, and Scott Thompson, an award-winning choreographer/director
who has worked regionally all over the U.S.
In addition to musical numbers, Cathouse: The Musical also features
scenes shot inside the familiar environs of the Bunny Ranch, including footage
of trysts taken by hidden cameras located in party bedrooms. (As always,
before sex takes place, customers are informed they are being taped, and
their appearance in the program is subject to signing a consent agreement.)
A HISTORY OF CATHOUSE: In 2002, HBO's cameras went inside the
Moonlite Bunny Ranch for the first time with the original Cathouse special; a
year later, in Cathouse 2: Back in the Saddle, HBO returned for another
intimate look at the "working girls" who pleasure men (and women) for pay -
including footage of actual trysts. In subsequent years, viewers got an
extended reservation to the Ranch with eleven episodes of Cathouse: The
Series in 2005, and another six episodes of Cathouse Season Two in 2007.
Both the Cathouse series and the three Cathouse specials are produced and
directed by Patti Kaplan, who also produces and directs HBO's seminal adult
series Real Sex. Among Kaplan's other HBO credits: the 2000 adult series G-
String Divas, and the 1997 documentary Dragtime USA: America Undercover.
