When in Carson City, I'm generally either in my hotel room, eating at the Grille at Gold Dust West, or in the wonderful Mound House brothels. Looking to expand my reach into some of the finer restaurants in Carson City. I'm an adventurous eater, particularly into Asian foods, cajun foods, and italian foods. Can I get specifically some info on Ti Amo Italian Grille and The Basil (Thai) in downtown? Any other restaurants you think would be good to try and want to toss into the list, I would be all ears! Obviously, out-date friendly restaurants, high on romance and atmosphere, would be good too! Other questions.....price? is it vegetarian and/or vegan friendly? Any other things you've noticed, while eating there, that you found to be a good addition to the business?
I was referred to The Basil a few years ago by one of the ladies at LRN. I had a wonderful lunch, great service, clean place to eat at and very reasonable prices, menu had good variety to it too.
For Italian food, I prefer Garibaldi’s which is located right next door to The Basil. It is primarily Northerm Italian cuisine, very good and reasonably priced. For fine dining on steak and seafood, I really enjoy Glen Eagles on the north end of Carson City. The food and service are excellent and they also have a nice band that performs in the lounge. I hope this helps.
If I can do an outdate, I'm really intrigued by The Basil, just wondering how much of a romantic vibe it would have? I live Thai food though. It's my birthday, but I'm planning on spoiling my date all night, if that makes sense
The Basil is very good but it doesn’t have what I would call a romantic vibe. If you’re confining yourself to Carson City, I would recommend Duke’s Steak House which is located in the Casino Fandango. It’s quite good and has a very romantic atmosphere with its well spaced booths and quality service and furnishings.
It depends upon what kind you're interested in coming to try. There's quite a few wonderful restaurants throughout Carson and Reno.
Equal mix of fun, healthy options (AKA - Vegeterian/Vegan friendly), and romantic atmosphere. Found some good ones I'd like to try, but looking for one to match those three requests the best?
I could easily expand my interests to Reno restaurants, but I'm hesitant to have that much 'travel time' in an outdate, going to be a four-month scramble to able to do an outdate at all , but I'm motivated!
This was a great post to read now that I'm a local! I can't wait to hit my goal so I can get back to being a foodie again!
This reminds me of the first time I hit up Cici's Pizza, was very excited, left very underwhelmed...LOL
I love Ti Amo! I’m not sure about their vegan options because I usually order the same things which are definitely nowhere near vegan (all yummy cream sauces).
Thanks roxy! I took the surprise aspect out of the evening and got the girl involved in some of the planning, looks like a sushi takeout feast coming to sagebrush!
Oh how fun! I never would have thought of that! See what happens when you let a sexy, smart girl take the reins?
She us certainly all if that, there's also the thought of, "if we party on my birthday, maybe let her plan some surprises for me too"
