Love this book. I read and watch the movie at least twice a year. I always catch something that I didn't the last time I picked it up.
Sometimes while working it's hard to ever finish the whole book. Do you ever get so intense about a book; that you don't want to put it down?
Absolutely. But the reverse is true as well. I read a quote once that said "too many good books to waste time reading a bad one". And I took it to heart. Prior to that I would finish a book I disliked just for the sake of finishing it. Not anymore, if I can't get into a book I move on.
Desert Rose, Have you ever become so engrossed in a book that you finished reading it one session? For some reason, certain spy novels and political thrillers grab me by the throat and almost force me to continue reading until the end. John Le Carre, for one, has had this effect on me in the past.
I just read 13 reasons why and I have seen the tv series too. They are both good and definitely gives new ways to perceive things. I heard that they're making another series of it, but I'm not sure when it comes out yet.
recently became a fan of Neil Gaiman and read Good Omens about six months ago, the interesting thing was watching a documentary about witch hunting in England and there actual was a Witch Hunting General and the documentary was about how much damage he did in a very short period of time
I just finished a great series! its called leagues and legends by e jade lomax- you can download the ebooks for free!
I absolutely loved the trilogy that began with The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo... I know two more have been written for the series by another author, about to start on them, I'm hoping they're as good as the first three!
2 books by Jeffrey Eugenides -The Virgin Suicides (not a fan of the movie, loved the book) -Middlesex (favorite of the two) Difficult subject matter but both are worth a read
If you're into post apocalyptic stories, read Dies The Fire by S. M. Stirling. Really interesting take on the genre, and it kicks off a long series of books. I'm now on book 5. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
Lately I've been really wanting to go to the library! Me and my mom used to go to the library all the time together, It was pretty traditional. I miss it. I feel like it's a really soothing and relaxing place to be. Sent from my VS425PP using Tapatalk
Which book? I love spy novels, but I had a tough time getting started with Tinker Tailor Solider Spy. It ended up on the night stand and is still sitting there taunting me.
I’m working on Wool by Hugh Howey. It’s a pretty back story, self-published and then took off. Movie rights were purchased and Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) is adapting the screenplay.
I just finished reading Scar Tissue, the story about Anthony Kiedis. Always liked the Chili Peppers, and scene it in Barnes and Nobles.
This is such a captivating book. I’m pleasantly surprised because I also enoy mystery/suspense. Howeys got a way with words: “He was an easy man to figure, one of those who had grown old everywhere but in his heart, that one organ he had never worn out because he’d never dared to use it.”
One book I keep coming back to is Lords of Chaos by Michael Moynihan and Didrik Søderlind. It’s mostly about the Norwegian black metal scene in the 90s, mentioning bands I actually do enjoy, like Emperor, Immortal, and Mayhem. It also has interviews with several in the scene, and it focuses mostly on Varg Vikerness murdering Euronymous. There was a movie in the works, but I think the project is dead.
Of course I've been rereading my Harry Potter books. I got all crazed over it if you can't tell by my other 3 posts.
I’ve been meaning to read a good new book! Thanks for all the suggestions! -Pure heart with a dirty mind, Randy Ryder
